Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is located in the village of Yellow, Baturiti Tabanan district about 50 kilometers from Denpasar city. Temple Construction Site located on the banks of Lake Beratan. The temple’s name was taken from a lake near the temple that is Banau Beratan.

From several sources based on archeological data Ulun Danu Beratan that the current location has been used to conduct sepiritual since megalithic times, it was proved by the discovery of a stone sarkopag and a board that came from the megalithic tradition around the year 500 BC. Both artifacts are now placed above each Babaturan (terrace).

From the data source in the Chronicle Mengwi implicitly described that I Gusti Agung Putu sbagai founder of the kingdom founded Mengwi edge of Lake Beratan Pura Pura Taman Ayun before founding. Over the palmyra Mengwi Chronicle is not explained what year Puru Ulun Danu Founded mind, but is expected before the year 1556 or 1634 AD saka.

Ulun Danu Beratan temple complex consists of four namely: Pua Linga Petak, Mangu Pucak upgrading Pura, Pura and Pura Dalem Terate Purwa Bang. Of the four complexes are Ulun Danu temple to worship the greatness of God’s work in its manifestation as Dewa Tri Murti to invoke the grace of fertility, prosperity, human welfare and the constancy of the universe.
