Sade village that inhabited by Sasak tribe – Pujut district, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, won national awards as a tourist village that is able to perform voluntary movement of tourism and stepping action.

” Sade Village managed to become 4th position in the tourism village competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,” said Head of Culture and Tourism of Central Lombok regency, HL Jazuli Azhar in Praya, Central Lombok, Tuesday (20/07/2010).

Meanwhile, the first award-winning  tourism village is Karang Banjar village, Bojongsari Central District, Central Java Province Purbalingga. The second winner is Munduk Village, Banjar District, Buleleng, Bali Province. The third award-winning is Kebon Agung village, Imogiri, Bantul District, Yogyakarta Region.

According Jazuli, tourism village awards are handed DG of Tourism Destination Development Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Firmansyah Rahim in Jakarta, Sunday (18/07/2010).

Sade village was awarded after successfully setting aside 59 other villages from 25 provinces in Indonesia. “We are quite proud of this achievement, although we are the champion of hope (4th)” said Jazuli.

The criteria are assessed on this tourism village award include the village community activities related directly or indirectly with tourism businesses and creates benefits for society.

Of the four criteria assessed, almost all aspects of assessment have been fulfilled. Some weaknesses still exist, such as data completeness and organization. “Next, we need to fix any shortcomings,” said Jazuli.
